Hey folks,

As some of you may have heard already, South Bay State Senator Leland Yee has proposed a bill that would hand the state-owned Cow Palace to the town of Daly City, who would then sell it to private developers who will tear it down and put up some strip mall and condos.

The Cow Palace is home to many events that I know are faves of the KS community, most prominently the Exotic Erotic Ball and the Dickens Christmas Fair. If the Cow Palace is gone, most of the events that happen there will simply stop - there just aren't many comparable venues left in the Bay Area, especially because the Cow Palace, being a publicly owned property, is a LOT cheaper to rent than other places of similar size.

Please please take the time to write a letter, call, or email your state reps and let them know you oppose this bill, SB1527.
